Today’s brides and grooms want to be up on the latest trends. With brides it is a little easier because there are so many dresses to choose from that finding the right one is a matter of taste. It’s usually the groom who has a difficult time finding a style that is trendy but that makes a personal statement. So what does a groom do when he wants to step away from the traditional look? Here are five trendy new ways in which grooms can create a fashionable new look.
For some grooms, the traditional black, grey, or navy blue tux or suit is a thing of the past. Bringing in a new, trendy color such as brown, forest green, or wine can be a fun way to bring some personality to the party that is your once-in-a-lifetime day.
If you still want to go with a traditional colored suit or tux for your big day, you can still choose to add in some color with an accent. This is especially fun if your bride’s dress has an accent color or if she is choosing to have that color in her bouquet. Accent colors can be worn in the tie or bow, but also in the pocket square, on the lapel, in a flower you wear, or even just your socks.
It used to be that the groom, the best man, and the groomsmen all had the same or a very similar look. Now, more and more grooms are choosing to give themselves a very different look than their crew. By standing out in bold ways from the other men in the wedding party, they not only give the wedding a trendy new look but themselves as well.
Don’t like the traditional look of a suit or tux that has a jacket and trousers that match? Well, you don’t have to like it and you don’t have to wear it. Many grooms these days are choosing to wear a jacket and pants of different colors, as long as they pair well together. By wearing something that is off the beaten path as far as the traditional look goes, you bring a bit of flare to the look of the whole wedding party and it gives you a trendy look.
They have said that what was once in style will eventually come back in style, and it seems to be the case with suspenders – at least when it comes to weddings. When the formal jackets come off and the face-in-the-cake and dancing starts, you still want to look trendy and fashionable so why not up your big-day look with a pair of suspenders? You can even use them to add in your accent color to add that flare to your outfit.
As you can see, there are more than several ways you can bring a trendy flare to the big day as the groom. There’s no reason to be traditional if you are not a traditional man, especially if the bride isn’t traditional in her choice of dress – just ask her, you don’t have to see it! So however you feel like incorporating these new trends into your wardrobe, get to shopping around, try on some outfits, and pick the perfect one.
